Inspired by the book and the TV series “1000 Places to See …” , this blog is a memoir of trips taken to beautiful, historic, and otherwise meaningful places. At the top of the list is my own neighborhood at the Heart of the North Shore of Lake Superior, halfway between Duluth and Grand Portage, MN. As one of my neighbors says, Little Marais is more than a place, it’s a state of mind.
